We saw a lot of stands during the northmodern , but the one by Orée had that kind of plus you can never let it get away.
Keyboards and iphone chargers are only the tip of the iceberg, but behind the surface you’ll find out that they also create their own technology in order to make something not only good at sight but functional as well.
That’s why they call themselves “artisans of emotional technology” and why we agree with this definition.
We had a chat with one of the founders to recall their career in 4 steps.
The beginning
A combination between natural and technological elements was something uncommon and that’s why we start thinking about it.
So we create a wood keyboard because we wanted to make something useful in our own way. It was the first object for Orée and it exemplified our creed.
The making of
The manufacture of our products necessitates 4 steps: the first one is about the cutting of the wood with a square form. Then, theses forms are machined with numeric engines, then sanded one by one. We have to gradually sand them, to make the pieces the slimmest. This is the most important step. The piece has to be perfect, it’s the only way to make the electronic mechanism perfectly combine with the wood piece. Then, we have the assembling, the varnishing and ─if necessary─ the personalization with laser engraving.
Team
At time we speak we are 7 craftsmen with our own precise roles. Potentially everyone of us could do the work of another, and that’s our secret: it’s important to have a global view, it helps us during the busy periods when we need extra support.
