The Camera in the Mirror or The Phantom of the Mirror

Google Art Project è stato lanciato ormai tre anni fa come una sorta di Street View per musei e gallerie.

Usando una camera panoramica montata su di un trolley, Google immortala opere d’arte e sale dorate di oltre 250 strutture di tutto il mondo. Cercando di restare sempre fuori dall’inquadratura. Non sempre però riuscendoci.

Ma a volte, la fotocamera di Street View si trova di fronte a specchi o superfici riflettenti ed ecco quindi che si verificano degli autoscatti involontari raccolti dall’artista di Barcellona Mario Santamaria nel progetto Camera in the Mirror.

Le immagini immortalano la camera donandole un’aura quasi umana, come le madri vittoriane ritratte nascoste sotto le coperte per tenere al caldo i propri figli o come chi, vestita ancora a festa, vaga per le stanze ormai vuote di un party conclusosi tanto tempo fa.
