Le deliziose illustrazioni di questo calendario prendono ispirazione da brani che menzionano il mese a cui si riferiscono.
Parliamo spesso di calendari ed in vista del nuovo anno ve ne consigliamo un altro.
Questo in particolare è adatto agli amanti della musica: l’illustratrice con base a Londra Bárbara Ana Gómez ha realizzato l’ Illustrated Songs Calendar, 12 mesi accompagnati da altrettante illustrazioni di canzoni di gruppi indie che contengono nel loro testo il mese a cui si riferiscono. Il processo è abbastanza semplice e forse lo avrete già intuito: in primo luogo c’è l’ascolto del brano, successivamente ci sono i primi schizzi sulla base delle idee ispirate da musica e parole e poi c’è il passaggio al pc per aggiungere colore. Per dare unità al tutto, l’illustratrice ha utilizzato una piccola tavolozza di colori scelti partendo dalla prima illustrazione realizzata: Mr November. I toni del blu sono stati “suggeriti” da questo particolare passaggio del testo “Sono il nuovo sangue blu” e i toni rossi per fare qualche contrasto e profondità all’immagine.
Qui, la stessa Bárbara Ana Gómez racconta com’è nata l’idea dietro Illustrated Songs Calendar:
«I had the idea of making a calendar a year ago, when I started seeing some beautiful calendars being launched by fellow illustrators.
The process has been pretty similar to the way that I work on any illustrated song; I first listen to the song and sketch some ideas inspired by the music and the lyrics, then I make a drawing in black ink, and I scan it afterwards to add some colour in the computer,” she continues.
The only difference this time was that I was sure that I wanted to stick to a small palette of colours to give unity to the calendar. These were chosen when I made the first illustration, Mr. November; the blue tones were chosen because of the line “I’m the new blue blood”, and the red tones to make some contrast and depth to the image.»
