Color Palettes of The New Yorker – L’analisi di Nicholas Rougeux

  • 14 Aprile 2017
  • Artwort

Limited and muted palettes were used the 1920s—possibly due to printing limitations, darker greens were more common in the 1940s, lighter palettes were used in the 1970s and 1980s, louder contrasting palettes were popular in the 1990s and more well-rounded palettes started being used since the 2000s.

“Casa Triana” is the result of a 60 square meter apartment renovation located in the historic neighborhood of Triana, Seville. The apartment has been designed for a single woman, providing her with as much living space as possible. The main concept of the project was to create a singular open space, but avoiding the idea of the “Loft” as to not make it feel too empty or characterless. A series of colored niches create distinct programatic areas that give the apartment it’s unique identity, using readily available roof ridges - “cumbreras” in spanish - to create their triangular wall texture. 32 0
