Le sculture di Kristiina Hataaja sono raffinate espressioni di “cubismo antico”

La scultura antropomorfa di Kristiina Hataaja ha come obiettivo quello di mantenere massima semplicità nelle linee e nelle forme. La scultrice, con base a Stoccolma, sembra afferrare le linee essenziali dei tratti umani in modo molto schietto, come se cercasse di coglierne l’essenza più che il dettaglio.

“Voglio che le diverse posizioni dei personaggi e le estensioni della figura donino una sensazione di calma e pace”.

Lo definisce Cubismo Antico il suo stile, perché nasce dalla curiosità di scoprire cosa succede quando la scultura greca incontra le forme del Cubismo.
Un aspetto dominante nelle sue opere, è la non artificiosità data dalle superfici dei materiali lasciate volutamente rugose che si abbinano perfettamente alla gamma di colori neutri usata dall’artista.

“La mia speranza è quella di poter ispirare le persone ad amare il lavoro genuino e fatto a mano e trovare più posto per l’arte nelle proprie case.”
