This is a series of illustrated interviews a bit special because it is made in partnership with Tillanelli, a Saint Petersburg-based illustration collective. The basic concept is always the same: 5 inputs to which illustrators respond through sketches. Not something complex and elaborate, but just sketches on paper, as when as children we give shape to our imagination. Let’s get to know something about this beautiful reality and the illustrators who are part of it.
Tillanelli is an illustration studio created and inspired by ladies. We’re an international team focused on illustration and motion design. We love minimal and colorful aesthetic, and clear storytelling. Also, we love pizza.
I am Nastya Varlamova, a Russian illustrator from Moscow. I draw illustrations for different clients, sometimes I run workshops and I also run an inspiring blog on Patreon. In the end of 2019 my family and I moved to Portugal to a small town near the Atlantic ocean called Cascais. My husband loves to surf, and I love to wait for him on the beach, making sketches with our little son Ivan, who is five years old. We chose Portugal for its nature and ecological environment, it is amazingly beautiful country with forests and castles, so we love to explore the area. Talking about illustration I have to say it is my passion and also my meditation. Through drawing I come to harmony developing my artistic skills. I really like to have an internal dialogue with myself, alone with myself I never get bored. I believe my kid will perceive the creativity I am handing over to become an open minded happy person.
My portfolio is available on Nastyavarlamova.com as well as my Instagram page.
