Not everyone is comfortable with words; some people can fully express themselves through music, others through images. For this reason, we have decided to start this new type of format in which we give 5 prompts to some of the illustrators we like the most and ask them to respond through sketches. Not something complex and elaborate, but just rough sketches on paper, like when as children we give shape to our imagination. This is Josh Stover .

Josh Stover is an artist, designer and sign painter living in Richmond, Virginia. He runs a design studio called Variety Shop with his wife Rachael. When he isn’t doing client work with Variety Shop, Josh makes paintings (acrylic on panel), drawings (colored pencil on paper) and prints(risograph and screen prints)! He primarily makes still life scenes, and is influenced by his love of antiques, old signs and vintage illustration. In his free time he loves walking in a city environment, cooking and gardening.
