We introduce you Fisura, a Mexican magazine about art, architecture, photography and literature. The six founders are young and enthusiastic, willing to raise their voice on the complex Mexican reality. Five issues were published since its start in 2014, each number has a main theme linking various subjects.
The first number analyzes the boundary, meant as urban limit as well as main research field for the review. Urban voids can give a possibility for change, although their future seems to be lost. In fact they still have a liquid essence, as opposed to that of a city made up of walls. Some of these walls are virtual, as the areas Google Street View chooses not to record: unmapped spaces apparently don’t exist. The second issue is about everyday spaces and nostalgia, from memories in our houses to abandoned buildings. The third theme is street art, that is not mere vandalism but also an impulse for participating to the future of the city. Participation and awareness are examined in the fourth number, with some cases of people that tried to provoke a change.
