L’artista e architetto di Buenos Aires Francisco M Diaz, aka Pastel, concepisce la street art come un modo per contrastare la pianificazione urbana irregolare e non inclusiva che spesso favorisce i “non-luoghi”.
Il suo soggetto principale è la flora, una scelta simbolica che avvia un dialogo sulla natura dell’uomo e del suo ambiente, sull’esistenzialismo reale, puro e tragico.

Le sue opere, colme di simboli quali fiori e frecce, raccontano storie silenziose sulla guerra e sulle differenze socio-politiche che caratterizzano alcune aree geografiche della città.

L’artista rigetta il concetto canonico di spazio urbano, facendo di qualsiasi posto, che sia rurale, urbano, aperto o chiuso, la sua tela.
