Not everyone is comfortable with words, some people are able to fully express themselves with music, others with images. For this reason, we have decided to start this new format: we give 5 inputs to some of the illustrators we like most and ask them to respond through drawings. Not something complex and elaborate, just sketches on paper, like when as children we give shape to our imagination.
With shared origins between Colombia and Bolivia, and trained in Argentina as a Graphic Designer, Andrea Devia Nuño currently develops her artistic practice in Madrid. From digital illustration to acrylic and from drawing to sculpture, her universe flows in a vectorial aesthetic of precise shapes and vibrant colors.
Inuenced by architectural photography and the geometric art of the 1960s, she defines her creative process as an infinite oscillation between figuration and abstraction. Nostalgia and love are joined together as main themes in her body of work.
From her feminine and contemplative figures, her work evokes sensuality, ambiguity, and a hypnotic abstraction.
