– Switch to page 1 for Italian version –

Not everyone is comfortable with words, some people are able to fully express themselves with music, others with images. For this reason, we have decided to start this new format: we give 5 inputs to some of the illustrators we like most and ask them to respond through drawings. Not something complex and elaborate, just sketches on paper, like when as children we give shape to our imagination. This is Luca Zarantonello.

Luca Zarantonello

Originally from Novellara (RE), I have always a passion for drawing.
After finishing high school I decided to focus on editorial illustration, and studied at the International School of Comics in Reggio Emilia and the MIMaster in Milan afterwards. Thanks to the encouragement of some professors at the School of Comics, I had the opportunity to explore the world of animation and motion design: skills that turned out to be very useful in the following years during the search of a job. After two years spent in London doing every type of job not related to design, I moved to Berlin, where I have lived for eight years now and where I work as an illustrator and animator. During my journey, a very important role was also played by family and friends who have always supported me in my choices.
Illustrating still continues to be the most rewarding activity for me in terms of professional and personal satisfaction.

When you were a child, what did you dream you’d become?

What did you eat last night?

Your favorite activity

Your idea of serenity

How do you see yourself in 20 years?
