Not everyone is comfortable with words, some people are able to fully express themselves with music, others with images. For this reason, we have decided to start this new format: we give 5 inputs to some of the illustrators we like most and ask them to respond through drawings. Not something complex and elaborate, just sketches on paper, like when as children we give shape to our imagination. This is  Naiting Huang.

Naiting Huang

Naiting Huang is an illustrator and visual artist from Taiwan, currently based in London. She graduated from Kingston University in Communication Design: Illustration MA. She enjoys using expressive textures and organic shapes to tell stories, creating playful and cute illustrations. With a diverse role as an artist encompassing painting, illustration, ceramic, and digital design, she seizes the opportunity to develop a mixed-media approach. As a designer by day, Naiting seeks a therapeutic escape by immersing herself in analog painting like using acrylic and gouache. Her affection for analog media stems from its embrace of imperfection, allowing her to create unique layers while preserving every mark and sketch.
Drawing inspiration from her daily surroundings, Naiting likes to capture the essence of objects and living spaces she cherishes. Forming deep connections with her living space, she hopes her work inspires others to engage in conversations with their surroundings, expressing gratitude for the protection and joy they provide. Through minimal compositions and calming color palettes, she conveys peaceful scenes and emotions, aiming to instill a sense of calm and the importance of slowing down to enjoy life. Naiting is on a journey to explore her artistic style intuitively, using freer brushes without restrictions, and embracing every imperfect trace as a part of the creative process.
