Le città e le strade deserte, un silenzio al quale non eravamo abituati, un mondo in mutazione che attende un futuro che si prefigura diverso, sono i momenti da focalizzare in immagini che racconteranno questa nostra avventura umana imprevista e inattesa.
Quarantine è una raccolta di progetti che Alexis Vasilikos, visual artist di Atene e vecchio amico di Artwort, ha realizzato camminando e fotografando, mentre quel suo camminare diviene meditazione e fotografia meditativa:
“Meditation is not a denial of the world, it’s the recognition of that on top of which the world arises. There is a silence, a stillness that is always here underneath all the mind activity. This under-standing silence is meditation itself…. In my case it was introduced through photography, that’s why I say that my practice is meditative photography.”
Alexis fotografa angoli che pensava trasformati e invece il tempo si è fermato, cristallizando Snakes of Athens striscianti in ogni fessura, avvinghiati alle sbarre di finestre sprangate dove la vita pare fuggita via.
Una fotografia meditativa e silenziosa che scopre i muti dettagli di una città che pare abbandonata.
